Second Wind

OK, admission time: didn’t get any running time in today. But, I’ll post up something I was thinking about last night as my lungs started to burn and my feet started to go numb…

There’s always this idea of second wind. Like, right when you start to feel like giving up, the adrenaline kicks in and you just feel a heck of a lot better than you did a few seconds ago.

There were times yesterday where I was feeling like… ok, this is dumb, I’m gonna stop right here. But nope, kept powering through and eventually caught my second wind. For some reason, I tend to run faster later in the workout than I do in the beginning. I’m guessing it’s because I kinda take it easy in the beginning and my body finally warms to the idea of me running…

Or I could just be losing my mind.

Anyway, that feeling of energy rushing through you and powering through a potentially tough situation is the basis of what was going on with me today.

We all face hardships and challenges. it’s up to us how we respond to those challenges.  I’ve been struggling as of late trying to make a connection with a couple people, but I think after tonight’s events, the connections might have been forged a lot better.  I’m feeling this rush of energy helping me power through a potentially tricky situation.

it’s still a bit of rough going before it becomes smooth, but I’m secure in knowing I got backup when I need it.

So, the second wind is real.

Things are looking up. I’m feeling the rush of energy come on for this season and will power me through to a new level.

Just gotta remember to limber up first.
