Fixing the Situation
So, I was stuck doing other things… running’s gonna have to wait until tomorrow night.
But, in the mean time, I got around to cleaning up two important things in my life: my iPhone and sock/underwear drawer.
Seriously, you can judge a lot about someone by staring at those two things. For one, it’s quite personal. Someone’s phone is like their lifeline and is the most accurate representation of themselves outside of their… underwear drawer.
I’m a big proponent of making sure the details are set. It’s always been during times in my life when I’ve let the details slip that I’ve felt kinda crappy about myself. If I get the small stuff straightened out, I think the bigger things will take care of themselves.
Take the drawer for instance. it was kinda haphazardly thrown together and kind of a mess. I took the time to pair up the socks, separate out the mismatches and rearrange the order of things. Cleaning that small bit made me feel a bit more accomplished.
Which then led to me cleaning up my phone. I needed to reassign it to this computer again, anyway. But, cleaning up the apps on here, making sure it all flows together nicely… it’s a good look, really.
Feeling accomplished is something I haven’t been getting a lot of recently. The business of life has gotten to the point where I’m just looking to finish, not necessarily feel accomplished about doing so.
This week, I promise to feel more accomplished. Hopefully, by celebrating the small successes, the bigger ones are right around the corner.
