Paper Heart (a couple thoughts)
I watched this one with Liberty and Terri. Seriously, I think this was the right mix of peeps to watch this movie with. No one else (perhaps outside of Germie and Ian) would have gotten the level of awkward that was on display here. It’s like super indie documentary steez that goes in all sorts of directions.
Charlyne Yi is adorable in that cute, dorky, socially awkward way. Seriously, I know that as soon as Liberty and Terri see the photo above, they should be cracking up.
But yeah, the best description of this movie is it’s kinda like BORAT but not quite as lewd and shocking, and hella heavy on the awkwardness.
The more i think about it, the more I kinda want to watch it again and pay attention to the stories. And it brings up a good question: what is a good definition of love? I know that Jesus loves us… our family loves us… our friends love us… but what is it about them (or us) that makes them love us back? Is there even a logical reason why? That’s what the movie sets out to answer and it does it in a pretty awkward way. Which I love.
If anyone wants to watch it, I’d be down to check it out again, seriously.
